So there was one week where I was only 7 hrs away from my beloved family instead of 8. That was a good week.

BTW - I think the last time I ever wore a watch was the day before I bought my first cell phone.Karynhttp://www.passionforrussian.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9030144909492747445.post-24032045721253616552011-03-30T12:23:31.122+04:002011-03-30T12:23:31.122+04:00Thank you for a view from Australia! Scientifically makes sense, but I never thought of it that way!

Cows are pretty adaptable as long as they get milked. Three time a day suggests that farmers are industrious down you way, and smart.

Now Russia has time one hour ahead year round with no more seasonal changes. In St Petersburg, in the northwest, we already have almost total light in June. In winter this daylight shift is unwelcome because the light will be shifted away from an already rather gloomy morning.Rob MacDonaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17050545070418063352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9030144909492747445.post-90164119799606877942011-03-28T16:15:17.616+04:002011-03-28T16:15:17.616+04:00Living in NZ & South eastern Australia, I do e...Living in NZ & South eastern Australia, I do enjoy the extra hour in the evening during daylight savings time. An extra hour of warmth for a BBQ and to enjoy those summer days.

The cows are not an issue, as the farmers keep on milking them at the same time, based on real time. In fact in NZ they milk them every 8 hours during the season. Yes a midnight milking, apparently they get lots more milk that way.

However I now live in far northern Queensland and the last thing we want is more sunshine and heat. It hard enough to keep out of the sun now, let alone forcing us to have and extra hour of it.

Up here we enjoy coming home from work and relaxing in the cool of the evening. Daylight saving would steal that cool away from me. So up here I say no thanks.

So based on my experience, I am surprised that Russia would stop it.Neilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17015793188834301651noreply@blogger.com
